The MSC's fishery certification program and Seafood Eco-label recognise
and reward sustainable fishing. They are a global organisation working
with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups and the
public to promote the best environmental choice in seafood.

The Wild Canadian Sablefish Association has nearly completed the
MSC’s independent certification process and will proudly bear the
MSC eco-label in the coming months.

Wild Canadian Sablefish Association members are proud of their
environmental “best practices” track record and utilize only the Trap Caught method of harvesting.  This method not only ensures that the carefully
managed catch limits are observed, it also helps protect the fish from
damage during harvesting, thus ensuring a premium quality product.

Wild Canadian Sablefish Association members are also very proud of their commitment to observing the annual harvest limits.  In the past decade, association members have worked to reduce the catch limit of
Wild Canadian Sablefish in order to guarantee a healthy and
sustainable future for this Canadian Seafood luxury item.
