information.
CSA
respects your right to privacy and is committed to maintaining your confidence
and trust. CSA’s Privacy Policy has been updated, and our programs reviewed to
ensure that we are compliant with Canada's
Personal
Information and Protection and Electronic
Documents Act.
Our
website is designed to enable you take action and help protect wild Sablefish
and their ecosystems. Because of this, some areas of the site require your
personal identification in order to be effective and considered legitimate by
decision makers. This information is required on correspondence with decision
makers to authenticate your letters, and to receive a written response.
Wildcanada.net and CSA collect this information in a database, and save it on
Wildcanada.net’s
password protected, secure online server.
We do this so that when you return to CSA’s Action Centre or Wildcanada.net's
sites to take action again, we can "auto-fill" the portion of the letter that
requires your contact info. You can disable this function by "unchecking" the
field marked "Remember me on this computer"* or by disabling your "cookies."
*This
could represent a security or privacy risk if you share a computer or use
public computers. We will delete all your personal information immediately
upon request.
On every
CSA action letter you are provided the option to become a member of the CSA
action network and to become a Network Participant in Wildcanada.net. If you
choose to become a member of the CSA network, the personal information you
provide is stored on
Wildcanada.net’s
password protected, secure online server and
is accessible only by designated staff of the Canadian Sablefish Association.
It will never be sold or traded. We will not disclose this information to
others except to send it, along with your message, to the targeted government
or corporate officials you have chosen to communicate with through our systems
at your request. If you choose to become a Wildcanada.net Network Participant
the personal information you provide is protected by a privacy policy that is
trusted by CSA. This policy is available on Wildcanda.net’s website:

When you
join the CSA network you may receive periodic updates, action alerts and
newsletters from us. We endeavor not to send more than one email alert to you
each week. These alerts may contain an appeal for donations.
You can
view and change the information that CSA has retained by emailing sablefish@shawlink.ca.
These requests are subject to Section 9 of the
Personal
Information and Protection and Electronic Documents Act,
and may
take up to 30 days to be
fulfilled.
You will
always have the option of unsubscribing from mailing lists.
CSA
requires that all of our conservation partners, and other organizations that
we share personal information with, have in place a Privacy Policy that
complies with Canada's
Personal
Information and Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
CSA may
contact you by mail using the information you have provided us in the future
for fundraising, conservation, information, voter education and general
outreach purposes.
